DIRECTOR OF HUMAN RESOURCES LOCATION:

CEO POSITION SUMMARY:
The Human Resource Director will plan, lead, direct, develop, and coordinate the policies, activities, and staff of the Human Resource (HR) department, ensuring legal compliance and implementation of the organization's mission and talent strategy. This person has a high attention to detail, excellent communication skills and ability to prioritize multiple tasks throughout the week. Essential Duties & Responsibilities
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following: Maintains a cheerful, courteous disposition and a neat, clean and professional image. Administers or oversees the administration of human resource programs including, but not limited to benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development. Directs and plans the day-to-day operations of group benefit programs and reconciliation (group health, dental, vision, short-term and long-term disability, worker’s compensation, life insurance, retirement plans, open enrollments, etc). Oversees the daily workflow of the department. Oversees employee relations with constructive and timely performance coaching to employees at all levels. Handles employee relations including discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy. Collaborates with senior leadership to understand the organization's goals and strategy related to staffing, recruiting, and retention. Plans, leads, develops, coordinates, and implements policies, processes, and surveys to support the organization's human resource compliance and strategy needs. Identifies staffing and recruiting needs; develops and executes best practices for hiring and talent management. Conducts research and analysis of organizational trends including review of reports and metrics from the organization's human resource information system (HRIS) or talent management system. Monitors and ensures the organization's compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews and modifies policies and practices to maintain compliance. Review, process, and reconcile time off requests and balances. Reconcile and process 401K deductions and submit contribution files. Keeps immediate supervisor promptly and fully informed of all problems or unusual matters of significance and takes prompt corrective action where necessary. Adheres to all company safety and sanitation policies and procedures. Assists other team members as needed or when business needs dictate. Minimum Qualifications (Education, Experience, Skills)
Bachelor’s Degree and 5 years of experience preferred. Computer proficiency and technical aptitude; Microsoft 365 (including Excel) and Google Suite. Experience with HR information systems (Paylocity is a plus). Ability to handle stress under pressure and multitask. Ability to follow through and maintain organization. Ability to communicate effectively (written and verbal). Strong analytical skills and thorough knowledge of plan designs. Willingness to maintain a clean, healthy, and safe working environment. Ability to coordinate multiple activities with attention to detail. Ability to work independently, with minimal supervision; self-motivated and anticipate needs of company. Fluency in Spanish preferred. SHRM-SCP Certification preferred. Physical Demands and Work Environment
Ability to be flexible with job demands and open-minded when being asked to complete tasks. Ability to travel to different locations around the Chicago area, as needed. Ability to stand and/or for up to 8 hours a day.
