Manager, Key Accounts
serves as the leader of multiple functions supporting NOVEC’s largest customers, government entities, revenue programs, and energy management programs. Develops strategic plans that ensure NOVEC goals are achieved. Provides direction and leadership to a team of key account professionals. The operation is 24X7X365 and requires support during outage events. Key Accounts:
Provides relationship and account management services for three types of utility customers: data centers; local governments; and large-mid commercial businesses. Revenue Generation:
Responsible for identifying new and managing programs that deliver revenue and increases customer satisfaction for NOVEC and the affiliates. Energy Efficiency and Management:
Responsible for load control and energy efficiency programs. Works in partnership with Regulatory, Power Supply and Operations to ensure proper compliance and performance of the PJM, federal, and state programs. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Establishes and executes the Key Accounts and Energy Services strategic plan that delivers on the vision of NOVEC. Establishes goals, key metrics, and KPIs to determine the health of the organization, and uses action plans to close performance gaps. Provides leadership and direction to key account professionals. Coaches and develops employees, evaluates performance, ensures a culture of teamwork, and drives performance to achieve team objectives. Leverages political savvy and relationships to navigate difficult customer, government, and operational challenges. Partners with NOVEC affiliates and other departments on revenue generation, new services/products, completes business cases, and reports performance. Uses survey data, financial data, voice of the customer insights, and informal surveys to identify areas to increase value and service. Partners with training to address new hire and refresher training needs. Ensures the intake, capacity, and workflow processes to handle workload and meet objectives. Collaborates with operations and engineering in the construction process to solve customer problems and drive satisfaction. Builds relationships with human resources, IT, regulatory, finance and accounting, communications, power supply, and legal. Provides oversight for Voice of the Customer and Quality programs that drive satisfaction. Drives organizational change to support growth and meet ever-changing customer expectations. Manages an operational budget. REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Minimum 10 years of progressive experience managing large customer relationships, engineering, and/or business development teams. Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, or related field. Experience creating and implementing strategic plans that deliver on the goals and objectives of the organization. Experience hiring, leading teams, inspiring, motivating, delegating, coaching and developing for performance. Experience managing large complex customers and government accounts. Experience growing revenue and margins. Experience building strategic relationships and collaborating. Experience solving complex problems with a high degree of independence. Experience implementing and delivering state and or federal energy efficiency programs. Experience developing presentations and presenting business results/cases. Experience analyzing data, drawing insights, and creating business cases. Must be able to work extended hours and support outage response. The operation is 24x7x365. PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Master’s degree in business, engineering, or related field. Experience in utilities or regulated businesses. Experience managing projects and leading change. Experience with process mapping and project management certification. Experience in incident response, outage restoration.
