Required Qualifications (as evidenced by an attached resume): Bachelor's degree (foreign equivalent or higher). Two (2) years of full-time experience in email marketing and/or digital marketing.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience in a higher education, non-profit and/or healthcare system. Experience using email marketing platforms such as Luminate and/or Salesforce Marketing Cloud. Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator). Light coding experience, ideally in JavaScript and related frameworks (React, Vue), HTML, and CSS.
Brief Description of Duties: The Stony Brook University Advancement Coordinator, Email Marketing supports the Marketing and Communications team mission by managing and optimizing the divisions email campaigns and ensuring impactful communication with university supporters, alumni, and community members. This role will be instrumental in increasing engagement, nurturing relationships, and driving action through compelling email content and data-driven strategies.
The Coordinator, Email Marketing will be responsible for developing and executing email marketing campaigns, composing compelling email content that aligns with the university and division brand voice and mission, and reporting on email campaign performance, using insights to optimize future campaigns. They will work with members of the Marketing and Communications, Constituent Experience, and Data Services teams to support Advancements goals.
Email Marketing: Serve as a central point of contact for Marketing and Communications, ensuring clear and effective communication at all times. Draft and coordinate communications for alumni, supporters and friends that are clear, concise, and in line with Advancements objectives. Project Coordination: Track progress, monitor deadlines, and communicate updates to Marketing and Communications on all projects to optimize productivity and workflow. Projects will include but not limited to managing the division email marketing calendar; coordinating email touchpoints such as Stony Brook Matters, Vital Connections, Inspiring Philanthropy, unit newsletters, and event communications; developing new touchpoints to engage with audiences, maintaining email metrics to support planning and strategy; A/B testing to determine the most effective subject lines, content, design and send times. Relationship Development: Develop a comprehensive understanding of Advancement structure, including key stakeholders, departments, and processes, and build relationships to facilitate effective communication and collaboration. Assist Marketing and Communications and other teams within Advancement to achieve common goals and objectives. Administrative & Constituent Support:
Provide administrative support to team members, including assisting with tasks, coordinating logistics, and maintaining organization and accuracy across files, documents, databases, and other Marketing and Communications materials. Assist with scheduling, correspondence, and document management to ensure smooth daily operations. Growth/Development: Embrace opportunities for growth and utilize best practices to continuously improve performance and contribute to the success of the organization. Other duties as assigned.
Special Notes: The Research Foundation of SUNY is a private educational corporation. Employment is subject to the Research policies and procedures, sponsor guidelines and the availability of funding. This is a full-time appointment. FLSA Non Exempt position, eligible for the overtime provisions of the FLSA.
