Success Coach Maintain one-on-one communication and contact with first-year, second-year, and first-year transfer students on a daily basis by phone, email, text, or face-to-face, and social media Assist students in adapting to academic rigor and learning CU processes and policies, including educating students on holds, attendance policies, and grade expectations Act as campus liaison to aid students in getting connected to the campus community, tutoring services, academic advisors/faculty members and other relevant student-facing offices on campus Inform, motivate, and encourage student success and lasting life skills in order to address on/off campus obstacles Answer a multitude of questions and maintain in-office organization Monitor and assess needs related to student progress, such as grades, absence warnings, preventative interventions, progress monitoring reports, etc. Maintain active flexibility every day based on a variety of student contact and situations Collaborate with other offices and academic departments on campus with a vision of student success and retention Organize Student Success Workshops, New Student Orientations, parts of summer registration days, and other campus events Attend to all aspects of freshman orientation classes, including addressing the various needs of instructors, communicating with mentors, planning large group events, and providing informational materials Check student schedules for inconsistencies and communicate required changes to students and advisors Serve faculty and academic departments on an as-needed basis to assist with various needs and to add visibility for Academic Support services within each department Navigate and orient students and faculty to the academic side of Workday, especially in the context of checking schedules and making changes and tracking student data through notetaking Monitor universal data tracking and collection of student information Participate in committees and meetings in relation to job functions Develop and refine targeted communication points via text and cross-campus visits Participate in on-going training and professional development Perform other duties as requested by advisor or as needed by the BASC
Qualifications
• Bachelor's Degree; Master's Preferred
• Interest in helping students succeed and move to graduation
• Self-motivated with strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Proficient in social networking technologies
