Friday, April 18, 2025, at 11:59 PM The City of Emeryville is currently seeking a qualified, professional, accountable, ethical leader to serve as the next Police Captain. The Police Captain is responsible for planning, organizing, and leading a team of officers and professional staff. The incumbent engages in a broad range of law enforcement duties, including the protection of life and property, enforcement of laws and ordinances, crime prevention, and conducting investigations. The Police Captain also oversees and executes specific staff assignments and performs other related duties as required. ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT:
The City of Emeryville Police Department's goals are to enhance residents' quality of life, seek solutions to problems, and nurture a sense of security within the community. Community partnerships and transparency are important values held by the department. Additionally, community input is vital to keeping Emeryville safe. The vision of the department is to be an organization of professionals respected by our law enforcement peers and fully responsive to the public safety needs of our community. We are dedicated to making the City of Emeryville a safe environment in which to live and work. The Department is organized into two divisions, the Field Services Division and the Professional Services Division. The Department provides a wide range of services, which includes patrol, community-oriented policing, public safety presentations, criminal investigations, a School Resource Officer (SRO) program, and a youth diversion program.
