Overview
The Level 1 Senior Systems Engineer supports systems engineering efforts, focusing on requirements analysis, system design, and integration. This entry-level senior role emphasizes collaboration with engineers and stakeholders to ensure the successful delivery of technical solutions.
Responsibilities
Assist in developing system requirements, architectures, and designs.
Conduct technical assessments and support system integration activities.
Develop and maintain technical documentation, including Interface Control Documents (ICDs).
Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams to address and resolve technical issues.
Participate in design reviews and provide input on system performance and risks.
Support testing and validation of system components to ensure compliance with requirements.
Qualifications
Experience:
Minimum 7 years as a Systems Engineer on programs of similar scope, type, and complexity.
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in System Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related discipline. (Five years of additional experience may substitute for a degree.)
Skills:
Strong foundational knowledge in systems engineering principles and practices.
Senior Systems Engineer – Level 2
Salary Range:
$175,000 - $185,000

Overview
The Level 2 Senior Systems Engineer leads systems engineering efforts, focusing on the integration of design, technology, and requirements. This role involves more complex responsibilities such as system architecture development, interface definition, and managing technical integrity across all deliverables.
Responsibilities
Lead the development of system engineering documentation, including System Engineering Plans and Requirements Specifications.
Coordinate resolution of cross-discipline issues from design reviews and Configuration Control Board (CCB) meetings.
Implement operational, technical, and system views for architectures using DoDAF standards.
Conduct risk assessments, evaluate probabilities of occurrence, and develop mitigation plans.
Develop scenarios and Operational Concepts to describe system interactions with users and the environment.
Establish formal procedures to manage system integration across multiple teams and ensure coverage of all interfaces.
Provide technical direction for interfacing, integration, and testing of hardware/software systems.
Ensure technical integrity of the system baseline over its lifecycle, updating as necessary.
Support DoD Certification/Accreditation and other Government Certification processes.
Qualifications

Senior Systems Engineer – Level 3
Salary Range:
$185,000 - $225,000

Overview
The Level 3 Senior Systems Engineer is responsible for high-level design, integration, and testing of complex hardware/software systems. This role requires extensive experience and technical leadership to manage and guide system development efforts while ensuring compliance with system architecture and engineering standards.
Responsibilities
Provide technical leadership for developing, engineering, interfacing, and testing complex systems.
Manage system requirements to ensure delivery of production systems compatible with defined architectures (e.g., DoDAF, SOA).
Guide the development of System Engineering Plans, Interface Control Documents, and related documentation.
Conduct and approve system trade analyses to optimize operations over the lifecycle.
Use validated models, simulations, and prototyping to mitigate development risks.
Serve as a member of the Configuration Control Board to manage evolving system configurations.
Oversee interface design in terms of origination, destination, and data characteristics for software and hardware.
Ensure compliance with agency, , and international standards.
Develop alternative courses of action and monitor risks using Earned Value Management (EVM).
Qualifications

Education:
