Position Overview:
The Restaurant Manager at Royal Sonesta Portland will oversee the daily operations of our dining establishments, ensuring top-notch service, adherence to safety and sanitation standards, and a welcoming environment for both guests and staff. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in food and beverage management, particularly in fine dining, with a proven track record of leadership and operational excellence.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Oversee daily restaurant operations, ensuring adherence to service, sanitation, and productivity standards.
Hire, train, and manage restaurant staff, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
Monitor and forecast F&B revenues and expenses to meet company goals.
Maintain F&B equipment inventories and ensure quality levels of products and services.
Develop and implement restaurant policies and procedures.
Plan and organize special events for the hotel, ensuring a seamless guest experience.
Lead the Accident Prevention Program to minimize liabilities.
Exhibit strong communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Manage restaurant staff, including hiring, training, performance evaluations, and addressing any staff concerns or issues.
Language Skills:
Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals; write routine reports and correspondence; and speak effectively to customers or employee groups.
Licenses:
OLCC Permit
Food Handler's Card
Physical Demands:
Ability to stand, walk, and sit for extended periods. Must be able to lift/move up to 50 pounds.
Additional Information:
Must demonstrate understanding and application of Sonesta People Standards and Core Guiding Principles.
Ability to work various shifts, including mornings, evenings, and weekends.
Valid Driver’s License preferred.
Must be able to reliably commute to or relocate to Portland, OR with an employer-provided relocation package.
