Req #3595Tuesday, September 17, 2024JOB SUMMARYThe CI Specialist assists in the coordination of Lean transformational activities, champions change and is a resource for Lean improvement. This position provides leadership, guidance, and follow-through to support the completion of departmental sustainment goals and objectives by delivering breakthrough results in safety, quality, delivery, cost, and morale.KEY RESPONSIBILITIESWorks closely with CI manager and Plant Leadership to:Build an employee engaged work environmentDevelop tracking tools and measures to support CI initiativesProvide and teach Continual Improvement mindset and techniques to employeesAnalyzes data to identify opportunities.Facilitates improvement events to drive sustainable initiativesParticipates in more complex improvement eventsWork individually or as a team member to perform and teach root cause analysisEstablishes and drives productivity pipeline projectsResponsible for managing multiple projects at the same time.Supports peers and colleagues to drive performance across the entire organization.KEY COMPETENCIESKnowledge and experience with ERP (SAP preferred)Skilled in:Excellent oral and written communication skills.Problem-solving skills and the ability to work with autonomy.Accuracy and detail-oriented.Ability to:Effectively communicate to give and acknowledge instructions/problems.Write routine reports and correspondence.Interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram and/or schedule form.Work well with others in stressful situations and meet deadlines as necessary.Handle several priorities and tasks.Work in a fast-paced environment.EDUCATION & EXPERIENCEA high school diploma or general education degree (GED); Two (2) years of college courses preferred.Two (2) or more years working in a manufacturing environment preferred.Exposure to Lean, Six Sigma, TPM, or WCM.Onsite at Grand Rapids.Sponsorship for work authorization is not available for this position.
