1Position Summary:Incumbent is a working supervisor within the clinic. Shares day-to-day responsibilities with the Practice Manager to supervise technical staff. Handles issues regarding customer service, service to practitioners, problem solving, registration issues, and patient financial services. Demonstrates the highest degree of proficiency in the use of all equipment and performance of technical ophthalmic procedures. Performs preliminary examinations, including recording patient history, testing visual acuity, intra-ocular pressure, neutralizing current lenses with the lensometer, automated and simple manifest refractions, and screening color tests. Performs special tests based on physicians' orders including keratometer readings, visual fields, GDX, topography, and axial length measurements. Triages patient and pharmacy telephone calls and prescription refills, intervening with physicians as appropriate. In conjunction with the Manager, coordinates front and back office operations and scheduling to maximize patient and office flow and assists in assessing training needs of staff.Total CompensationIn addition to the salary range listed below, we offer a wealth of benefits to make working at UCI even more rewarding.
