SecretPOSITION OVERVIEW AND PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS)

The Site Safety and Health Officer (SSHO) is responsible for ensuring compliance with EM 385-1-1 Section 1 and 29 CFR 1926.16 requirements throughout the project. The SSHO will oversee the Contractor's safety program and Accident Prevention Plan, implementing measures to always maintain a safe working environment during project operations.This opportunity is for a POTENTIAL CONTRACT award and is contingent upon the contract being awarded. Consideration for a potential contract may require a signed letter of intent. If the contract is awarded, another position posting will be available on the Company Careers portal.Job Duties and Responsibilities

Prepares and enforces the contractor's safety program.Must meet the requirements of Engineers Manual 385-1-1 Section 1.Ensure the requirements of 29 CFR 1910 are met for the project.REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

Required Qualifications

Five years of satisfactory experience in preparing and enforcing safety programs on contracts of similar size and complexity, or three years of experience if possessing a Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or safety and health degree.Completion of the OSHA 30-hour construction safety class or equivalent, with maintenance of competency through 24 hours of formal safety and health-related coursework every four years.Experience in operations related to security, safety, environmental, and energy requirements associated with the work contractors perform.Speak, read, and comprehend English.Experience in submitting deliverables in a timely manner. Examples include weekly reports, written orders, operating procedures, training instructions and materials.Must be at least 21 years of age.Possess and maintain a Secret Security clearance.Possess a high school degree.Afognak Native Corporation, Afognak Commercial Group, LLC, and their subsidiaries are equal opportunity employers.
