The White lab combines molecular genetics, evolutionary genetics, and genomics to investigate fundamental processes underlying sex chromosomes. The postdoc will have the opportunity to engage with multiple active research areas in the lab. There are projects underway to investigate the genetic and developmental mechanisms underlying male sex determination, with a particular emphasis on how these processes repeatedly evolve across species. In addition, the White lab is broadly interested in the mechanisms governing DNA repair and segregation of newly evolving sex chromosomes during meiosis. All projects use stickleback fish species as a model system.Duties/Responsibilities

Lab Research - 80%Assist with stickleback fish husbandry - 5%Participate in lab meetings - 5%Mentor graduate and undergraduate students - 10%Minimum Qualifications

A doctoral degree or equivalent in genetics or a closely related field. Successful candidates will demonstrate a strong research record in the life sciences.Contact Information
