Position Overview

Primary Purpose of the Position

The Department of Exercise Physiology seeks applicants to teach an undergraduate course in the School of Health Sciences for the 2024-2025 Academic Year.

Primary Function of Organizational Unit

Exercise Physiology merges the scientific mind with the analysis of exercise. Students will master a physiological and anatomical knowledge base, gain proficiency in scientific writing, and competently execute many "hands-on" laboratory techniques using state-of-the-art equipment. Students will have the opportunity to explore the exercise testing laboratory, learning to understand how the human body is influenced by exercise.Position Information

Master's degree in exercise physiology, exercise science, kinesiology, health education, nutrition or health-related discipline and two years of related teaching or experience at the university level; or equivalent combination of teaching, training and experience.

Responsibilities include teaching undergraduates; developing and managing the class syllabus and ensuring that the syllabus meets department and university standards; planning and creating lectures, in-class discussions and assignments; grading assigned papers, quizzes and exams; assessing grades for students based on participation, performance in class, assignments and examinations; collaborating with colleagues on course curriculum; and advising students on how to be successful in class.
