Position:
Full-time Infant Toddler Teacher
Location: Primrose School of Willowglen, 1496 Hamilton Ave, San Jose, CA 95125
The children in these classrooms are ages 12 months to 24 months old. Teacher: Child ratio is 1:4.
Qualifications:
MUST BE FULLY VACCINATED
12 core unit classes with a grade of C or better are required (child development, child-family-community, curriculum)
3 units in Infant/Toddler are required
Work experience in a licensed childcare facility as a teacher
Pleasant/friendly demeanor and an outgoing personality
Must meet basic requirements of local child care regulatory agency (Title 22) including immunization, health screening, fingerprinting, and background check
Must be able to lift up to 35 lbs. in connection with the handling of children for the facilitation of programs, child safety, and potential emergencies
Job Responsibilities:
Supervises and manages daily functions for a class of children
Assesses each child's developmental needs on an ongoing basis
Provides an attractive, well-kept classroom that encourages creativity, exploration, and decision-making by the children
Ensures that all class bulletin boards are current and provides parents with an overview of the material taught in class
Accepts responsibility for maintenance and necessary housekeeping duties of the classroom, common use areas, and playgrounds
Assists and coordinates snacks, meals, naptime, and bathroom activities
Attends all required staff meetings, workshops, and/or school functions as determined by the Director
Observes all rules and regulations about the health, safety, and care of children
Maintains a professional personal appearance, attitude, and work behavior at all times
Plans with Education Coach and implements the approved lesson plans and daily classroom schedule using the Primrose School curriculum outlines and materials
Plans with the Director all required parent-teacher conferences and student evaluations
Performs other duties as assigned
Able to work on iPad to log children's daily activities
We are looking for a warm-hearted teacher who can introduce play-based activities and provide care and love to the children. The ideal candidate should be fun, playful, engaging, attentive, and willing to collaborate and connect with the child’s parents.
