link/button.Job Category: Staff & Executive - Administrative & Support - GeneralDepartment: Enrollment Management & Graduate Studies - NewarkOverview:Rutgers University-Newark (RU-N), an urban public research university and anchor institution, located in Newark, New Jersey, is seeking a Sr. Department Administrator SPVR. Reporting to the Vice Chancellor for Enrollment Services & Experience and working directly with the Sr. Budget Manager in the Chancellor’s Office, the position oversees key fiscal, facilities, and human resource elements within the Division of Enrollment Services & Experience, including accounting, budgeting, purchasing, human resources management, and facilities.The position will be responsible for the following:Provide leadership for program support, event management, and other administrative functions.Provide leadership and expertise in fiscal and human resource management for the Division’s administrative coordinators, business assistants, specialists, and managers.Oversee day-to-day operations and administration of the Division, ensuring an inviting atmosphere for students, faculty, and community members.Work closely with the ESE budget team, managing accounts, grants, payroll, and financial matters.Analyze revenues and expenditures, develop budget proposals and projections, and execute the monthly closing process.Prepare financial documents and reports for internal and external purposes.Participate in planning and analysis of financial implications of operational decisions.Develop and recommend policies to improve operational efficiency and compliance.Coordinate assigned administrative functions and daily operations for the Division.Responsible for hiring, firing, and evaluation of employees under supervision.Position Status: Full TimeDaily Work Shift: DayWork Arrangement: This position may be eligible for a hybrid work arrangement.Minimum Education and Experience:Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or a related field.Minimum of five (5) years experience in an executive-level administrative position with supervisory responsibilities, or equivalent education/experience.Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Excellent communication skills and advanced computer literacy.Ability to manage multiple tasks and establish effective working relations.Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to function autonomously.Preferred Qualifications:Master’s degree.5 years minimum of relevant professional experience in financial/accounting/business functions.Experience working in higher education and fast-paced organizations.Posting Number: 24ST1802Posting Open Date: 07/26/2024All offers of employment are contingent upon successful completion of all pre-employment screenings.Supplemental Questions
