Establish and maintain an active research program in the area of expertise. Responsible for teaching medical biochemistry and genetics curriculum, subject matter and methods of instruction. Promote an atmosphere of respect for knowledge, thought, and inquiry. Participate in scheduled meetings of the General Faculty and contribute to the planning, development, and evaluation of courses and academic programs.Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:Teaching expertise required in the following area: Biochemistry.Teaching expertise preferred in the following area: Genetics.Ability to communicate effectively to groups or individuals.Ability to effectively interact with people of all backgrounds.Ability to handle detail-oriented assignments and maintain confidentiality.Ability to manage multiple responsibilities in the College environment.Required Qualifications:EDUCATION:

PhD in life sciences or equivalent from an accredited institution.EXPERIENCE:

5 years post-doctoral experience teaching medical biochemistry at an accredited institution.Preferred Qualifications:

Preference will be given to those with experience in teaching medical genetics.Key Responsibilities:Research Activities:

Conduct research, secure extramural funding, and mentor students/postdocs.Teaching:

Teach medical biochemistry/genetics, develop curriculum, and participate in curricular activities.Service:

Engage with students, support and advise them throughout their medical school career.Publish 1-2 peer-reviewed manuscripts per year and attend national/international meetings.Work Schedule:

$90,000.00Maximum:

$140,000.00Physical Demands

Essential functions of this job may require lifting. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds. Administrative duties are normally performed in a typical office setting, while lab duties are performed in a laboratory setting.Conditions of Employment
