Job Requirements 2 years of unit experience Department: PCU Common diagnoses/Types of patients: Adults, Cardiac med/surg, dialysis, cancer diagnosis, vascular, sepsis, adult respiratory, stroke, post stent, post pacer placement, renal failure Are RNs required to titrate drips?: Yes Common titratable &/or set rate drips: Heparin, Nitro, Dopamine, Cardizem, Amiodarone, insulin RNs must read and interpret tele monitors Beds: 40 beds with average daily census of 24 Ratios: 1:4-5 both days and nights Charge nurse and nurse aids/patient care techs present on the unit Required to trouble shoot RT Equipment (Vents, Cpap, BiPap, High Flow, etc.) WILL NOT APPROVE BLOCKED SCHEDULING OR SAME SCHEDULE/SHIFTS, MUST BE FLEXIBLE AND WILLING TO FLOAT AND WORK WHEN NEEDED Schedule Information Shifts & Scheduling: 0630-1830, 1830-0630 Smart Square online scheduling Weekend Requirements: Every third Holiday Requirements: Rotating with perm staff Floating Requirements: Yes to MedSurg or to ICU to take PCU acuity patients Unit Specific Information Overhead lifts in half the rooms, portable lifts, vein finders, bladder scanner Focus on patient experience scores, responsiveness, hospital environment, and communication about medications Scrub Color/Dress code: Navy Blue How many shifts of unit/department specific orientation?: 1 week Additional Details Must be flexible and willing to learn as well as take feedback along the way Different cultural populations are served on this unit- primarily Hispanic and Somalian Radius Rule: 50 miles AND candidates may not be full time, part time, or PRN with any facility associated with CommonSpirit, including CHI and/or Dignity. RTO needed upfront (7 or less days per 13 week contract). Additional RTO will not be approved, including after submissions.
