Job Details:

Our company is seeking a dynamic and experienced Assistant Controller to join our finance team. This role will be responsible for assisting the Controller in managing the financial health of our organization. The successful candidate will be involved in long-term business planning, financial reporting, and analysis. This position offers an excellent opportunity to work in a fast-paced, high-growth environment where new ideas are encouraged and collaboration is a must. This is a full-time, permanent position with competitive salary and benefits package.

Responsibilities:

  1. Assist in the preparation of financial reports such as financial statements and budget performance.
  2. Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal budgetary reporting requirements.
  3. Work with the Controller in the development of financial plans and strategies.
  4. Manage the preparation of payroll for personnel.
  5. Keep up-to-date with current financial and industry trends.
  6. Assist in the management of the company’s accounting systems and procedures, and ensure they are up-to-date and in compliance with accounting standards and government regulations.
  7. Oversee the daily operations of the finance department.
  8. Work with external auditors and manage the preparation of audit schedules and other items requested by external auditors.
  9. Assist in the preparation of budgets or forecasts.
  10. Participate in strategic data analysis, research, and modeling for senior company leadership.

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field. A Master’s degree would be an asset.
  2. Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation is preferred
  3. Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role
  4. Proficiency in NetSuite and Microsoft Excel is a must.
  5. Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and financial data analysis.
  6. Excellent analytical, decision-making, and strategic planning skills.
  7. Strong communication and presentation skills.
  8. Ability to work independently with little management.
  9. Demonstrated leadership ability, confidence and executive presence – ability to motivate staff.
  10. Excellent and demonstrated written and verbal communication skills.
