Summary You will serve as a INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY SPECIALIST (CUSTSPT/INFOSEC) in the Information Technology Program ofCOMNAVREG MIDLANT NORFOLK. Responsibilities You develop problem tracking databases for trend analysis. You will configure desktop hardware and peripherals (e.g., network cards, printers, video cards, scanners, or similar items) to minimize disruptions of computer operations. You will interview information technology (IT) system users to ascertain system issues and lead them through diagnostic procedures. You will plan delivery of information technology (IT) customer support services (e.g., hardware or software installation, configuration, troubleshooting, or similar services) for an organization. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications FOR GS-11: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Preparing network orders and Invoice validation for Information Technology (IT) services; 2) Providing programmatic support with government and commercial service providers of Emergency Land Mobile Radio (ELMR) system operations; 3) Following procurement procedures to ensure appropriate interaction with contracted providers of IT services; and 4) Supporting Public Safety Network (PSNET) related projects such as automated gates and turnstiles at entry control panels. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Assisting in preparing network orders and Invoice validation for Information Technology (IT) services; 2) Assisting in the review and coordination of IT requirements in order to successfully plan and manage provision of IT services; and 3) Utilizing IT Information Assurance to ensure compliance with directives and appropriate response to information assurance incidents. Education Applicants may qualify with the following education in lieu of the specialized experience qualification: For GS-11: Successful completion of a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management. OR Successful completion of three full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. or equivalent degree from an accredited or pre-accredited institution in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management; or, graduate education that provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more of the fields identified above and required the development or adaptation of applications, systems or networks. For GS-9: Successful completion of a master's degree or equivalent graduate degree from an accredited or pre-accredited institution in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management or graduate education that provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more of the fields identified above and required the development or adaptation of applications, systems or networks. OR Successfully completed 2 full years (36 hours) of progressively higher graduate level education leading to a master's degree or equivalent graduate degree from an accredited or pre-accredited institution in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management; or, graduate education that provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more of the fields identified above and required the development or adaptation of applications, systems or networks.
