SBH Health System is looking for a meticulous and detail-oriented Payroll Analyst to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in payroll/timekeeping processing, compliance, and reporting. As a Payroll Analyst, they be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing, maintaining payroll records, and resolving any payroll discrepancies. The analyst will work closely with human resources and finance departments to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations. Additionally, they will analyze payroll data to identify trends and provide insights to improve payroll processes. The successful candidate will have excellent analytical skills, a deep understanding of payroll systems, and the ability to handle confidential information with discretion. This role requires a proactive approach to problem solving and the ability to work under tight deadlines. This position will report to the payroll manager and senior director.
PAYROLL ANALYST RESPONSIBILITIES•Overseeing and managing complex payroll processes and procedures to optimize software utilization.•Verifying payroll data and timekeeping system integrity•Responsible for computing any retroactivity, vacation pay out and any other payroll transactions on an ongoing basis utilizing the electronic action form system. Some of these functions may involve advanced utilization of excel skills such as pivot tables, V-look ups etc.•Ensure all aspects of the payroll cycle are processed, reconciled, audited, and
transmitted accurately and timely•Analyze and review payroll/time and attendance data; handle quality control and auditing to ensure accuracy with minimal errors•Responsible for stop payments, reversals, off-cycle payrolls, and manual checks as needed•Perform and audit monthly accounting functions such as general ledger payroll account reconciliation, salary accruals and validating any entry discrepancy•Analyze compensation-related data including wages, bonuses and any other type of compensation•Create custom reports and analyze large amounts of information to support mandatory reporting, day-to-day, and ad hoc business needs•Develop and train ADP employee payroll and time-tracking self-service training resources•Design, document and implement procedures to streamline payroll processes•Participate in meetings as needed•Support the third-party web applications such as ADP Enterprise EV6/eTIME or similar systems and custom-built time entry system by uploading appropriate data according to formatted metrics•Assign respective profiles to new hires, and any employee maintenance changes to maintain data integrity and workflow•Complete monthly, quarterly, and yearly payroll and employment audit/reports as needed•Streamline payroll processes by exporting, importing and approving personnel time on salary and hourly employees•Provide clarification of policies and ensure adherence of policies regarding timekeeping and payroll.•Assist the payroll manager and director with internal and external audits as necessary•Work closely with management in planning large-scale projects•Develop moderately complex ADP enhancements/issues resolution and reporting•Work closely with management on projects including adjustments, year-end processes, reporting including W2s
Requirements & Skills•5+ years of related payroll experience•Experience utilizing ADP and eTime application or Kronos processing systems•Able to utilize system reporting tool•Advanced skills in Excel, including v-lookups and creating pivot tables. Microsoft Access a plus•Strong systems/process experience with demonstrated analytical thinking, attention to detail, organization, and problem-solving•Knowledge of state and federal payroll and tax regulations•High numerical aptitude and detail-oriented.•Bachelor's degree in a business-related area
