Minimum Years of Experience: 1 year
Traveler Experience: Will accept 1st time travelers.
Locals Accepted / Rate Difference: Yes
Skills: Administer chemo. Experience in an inpatient setting is required
Certs: Chemotherapy administration certification is required prior to start; required to obtain prior to start. Will accept travelers that do not currently have the ONC cert! BLS.PREFERRED SKILLS / CERTS / EXP: CPI. Charge nurse experience.
JOB DETAILS: will work with oncology as well as medical surgical patients
Target Ratios: 1:6-7
Shift:NIGHTS; Unit will accept contracts from 13 weeks+ up to March 15, 2025 (hard stop) to get the unit through the holidays!
RTO: 7 days MAX; DAYS; 36 or 48 hours.
Call Requirement: Call required if called off on a prescheduled shift.
Float Requirement: Floating required to similar units and alternate care locations with inpatients holding, such as inpatient holding in the ED, or any alternate medical patient care location.
Weekend Requirement: *EVERY OTHER WEEKEND REQUIRED.** Contract staff will be assigned and expected to work a Storm Team and/or Hurricane Team. Contract staff may be required to report to work during a catastrophic event, mass casualty or disaster. Consolidation to the Centralized Office mid contract may occur and the contract staff may be preassigned to units as neededPATIENT DIAGNOSES: High Acuity Adults and Geriatrics.
**Contract staff may be required to care for patients with COVID.SPECIAL PROCEDURES / UNIT DETAILS: Daily Census 42.
General medical-surgical diagnosis primary patient population. Administration of chemotherapy/biotherapy -IV, PO, or injection. DKA - Insulin drip, AKI, Sepsis, Cancer, Septic shock, Pain, OD, Malignant Neoplasms, ARF, Encephalopathy, FTT, Diabetic foot ulcers, Heparin drips.
UNIT SYSTEMS (Medication, Documentation, Communication): PYXIS, EPIC, SBAR.
UNIT ORIENTATION: 24 hrs (2 shifts)
SCRUBS: Navy Blue and white.
