Arthrex, Inc. is a global medical device company and a leader in new product development and medical education in orthopedics. The Medical Visualization department is responsible for creating all illustration and animation related content company wide. We are searching for a candidate pursuing an animation or related visual arts degree to support the animation team at the Naples campus (INC). The successful candidate will assist in creating animations with guidance from the animation team. The individual will perform various tasks in the animation pipeline (modeling, texturing, rigging, animation, lighting, rendering, and compositing) and will be organized and detail oriented in the execution of these tasks. The individual will also work within the requirements of their tasks to deliver results and communicate issues in a timely and accurate manner.
This internship will run from May 2025 – August 2025. The ideal candidate will have the availability to work 40 hours per week at our Naples, FL facility.
Main Objective:
To learn the animation workflow specific to Arthrex’s animation department including modeling, texturing, rigging, animation, lighting, rendering, and compositing.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist in surgical technique animations.
- Assist in features and benefits animations.
- Modeling/texturing surgical instrumentation.
- Modeling/texturing anatomical models.
- Finalizing animation via compositing.
- Learning the organizational methods of the department.
Education and Experience:
- Progress towards a college degree in a related field required, preferably in Animation. A college senior preferred. (Students who have recently graduated are only eligible to work as an intern/co-op up to six months from their graduation date.)
Knowledge of human anatomy a plus.
Knowledge and Skill Requirements/Specialized Courses and/or Training:
- Basic to intermediate computer skills.
- Be able to follow written and verbal direction.
- Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects, Maya, 3DS Max, Redshift, VRay, and/or Unreal experience preferred.
Machine, Tools, and/or Equipment Skills:
PC; Familiarity with Microsoft Outlook; PowerPoint; Word and Excel. Fax; Scanner. Software proficiency in ZBrush, Adobe Creative Suite, 3DS Max, Substance Painter preferred.
