Reference #: 2022451 University Libraries, ETC (Entertainment Technology Center), IDeATe (Integrated Design, Arts, and Technology), and the Sustainability Initiative (UEIS) make up the portfolio of units reporting to Helen and Henry Posner, Jr. Dean of the University Libraries and Director of Emerging and Integrative Media Initiatives, Keith Webster. With complementary missions to advance knowledge and foster innovation in the pursuit of a more equitable future for all, there are more similarities than differences between this eclectic grouping.
We are currently searching for a Development Associate to join UEIS at Carnegie Mellon University. Reporting to the Chief Advancement Officer, the Development Associate will be an integral member of a dynamic and evolving team. This is an exciting opportunity if you thrive in a collaborative and creative work environment. You will partner with the team to increase their efficiency and effectiveness, as well as support events during a full year of engaging programming.In addition, you will collaborate with multiple university partners to accomplish strategic goals.
Core responsibilities include:
Partnering with prospect managers to increase their efficiency and effectiveness as front-line fundraisers.
Utilizing data, research, reports, and other resources and tools to help prioritize and optimize prospect qualification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship activities.
Assisting prospect managers with prospect strategy development and moves management and assists in the drafting and updating of written prospect strategies.
Monitoring and ensuring the accuracy of prospect management-related data and other information in University Advancement's database of record.
Assisting the prospect manager in the drafting and finalization of prospect briefings, profiles, and reports for university leaders; internal presentations; prospect correspondence; fundraising proposals; and gift agreements, ensuring that the highest quality products are created within required time parameters.
Supporting the planning and coordination of special events and campus visits by prospects, including contact with prospects when needed.
Assisting with planning and coordination of constituent focused special events for all areas within the UEIS portfolio.
Providing data collection and assessment of events for continual improvement of offerings, applying a wide range of qualitative and quantitative methods for the assessment and improvement of the events program.
Partnering with Libraries External Relations and University Communications and Marketing to produce print and digital assets.
Establishing campus relationships to connect to a diverse community of constituents across CMU and works effectively with partners within University Advancement and across the university to accomplish goals.
Managing and completing a variety of special projects requiring skills in data analysis, writing/editing, and collaborative problem solving.
Actively participating in service to the broader university community through committee work and collaborative innovation.
Providing administrative support to the Chief Advancement Officer.
Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's degree required
Years of experience: 1-3 years of development experience
A combination of education and relevant experience from which comparable knowledge is demonstrated may be considered.
