Position Overview
Reporting to the Director, Global Communications, the Communications Intern will play a key role in driving effective internal communication programs and supporting external communication initiatives within Encore. This role is responsible for assisting with these activities through active collaboration with the functional leaders and other key partners throughout the business, helping ensure alignment with business objectives and organizational goals.
Key Job Responsibilities
Internal Communications
Communication Management
Draft internal content, including intranet news posts, newsletters, organizational announcements and targeted emails, in collaboration with the Communications team and key stakeholders.
Support the Communications team in updating SharePoint content across the global intranet site, Encore Connect.
Partner with the Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging team to support internal communication needs of our Business Resource Groups.
Recommend strategies to highlight the company culture and increase engagement through creative posts and team member challenges on Viva Engage, the company’s internal social network.
Propose enhancements to communication vehicles to improve overall communication effectiveness and support best practices.
Analysis
Research internal communication best practices and provide recommendations on how to improve current tactics or implement new ones.
Report back on specific success metrics of each individual effort to include insight on how to continually improve execution.
Explore continuous improvement opportunities as it relates to communicating with a global internal audience, with a particular focus on two-way dialogue communication channels.
Other
While the Communications Intern will gain a well-rounded experience within the Communications function of Encore, he/she/they will also have the opportunity to work with additional Marketing team members and contribute to other major projects as appropriate. Exposure to vendor management, web development, web publishing, and marketing automation will also be provided.
Job Qualifications
Currently pursuing a degree in communications, public relations, marketing, or a related field preferred
Excellent writing, interpersonal, and verbal communication skills
Strong project management skills and the ability to juggle several projects at once with staggered deadlines
A basic understanding of communication vehicles that will effectively tell our story to internal audiences
Ability to consult with internal clients on communications options and contribute to comprehensive communications plans in order to help drive business results
Must possess the interpersonal skills and confidence to work with internal clients at all levels of company
Must be skilled in Microsoft Office applications; experience with Photoshop and/or other design software preferred
Some SharePoint development skills preferred
