As a Sr. HR Generalist, you are critical in supporting the company's human resource needs. You are responsible for overseeing day-to-day HR functions, including but not limited to recruitment, employee relations, benefits administration, policies, affirmative action, and compliance with labor laws. Responsible for maintaining confidential and sensitive information and working directly with employees daily. This role will contribute to creating a positive work environment. Additionally, this position serves as the backup to the payroll clerk and involves travel to our neighbor island operations as needed to provide HR support.

Minimum Qualifications:

*Bachelor's degree in human resources or related field or equivalent experience.*Five or more years of proven experience in the HR field.*In-depth knowledge of Hawaii and federal employment laws and regulations.*Experience in employee relations, conflict resolution, performance management, and HR policy administration.*Highly detail-oriented with the ability to meet assigned deadlines while working on multiple projects.*Experience leading and supporting organizational change initiatives and culture transformation projects.*Excellent interpersonal communication skills (both verbal and written), customer relation abilities, and high professionalism.*Strong working knowledge of MS Office suite of products.*Demonstrated commitment to maintaining confidentiality and adhering to HR best practices and ethical standards.*Commitment to continuous learning and updating on emerging HR trends and best practices.

Preferred Qualifications

*Professional HR certification(s) (e.g., SHRM-CP, PHR, SHRM-SCP, SPHR).*Experience working in the construction materials supply industry.*Experience working in an organization with a Collective Bargaining Agreement.*Experience with ERP systems (e.g., JD Edwards), HRIS (e.g., UKG), and Payroll systems.*Proficiency in HRIS and ability to analyze HR metrics and data for decision-making.*Experience developing or implementing diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) programs.*Experience in talent acquisition, retention strategies, and succession planning.*Experience in developing or implementing employee engagement strategies, training and development programs, and employee surveys.

What you will get to do:**Set a positive safety example and drive corporate and local safety initiatives.*Promote Company Purpose, Mission, and Vision statements while living Company Values.**Administer various HR programs, plans, policies, practices, and procedures, including developing and planning new strategies to keep pace with changes affecting the HR field. Regularly conduct program audits to ensure compliance and effectiveness.**Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local labor laws and regulations and provide guidance and support to management and staff.**Manage Employee Life-Cycling, including job posting/recruitment, interview process, pre-employment screenings, new employee orientation, retirement processing, and exit interviews.**Maintain accurate employee records and data by performing regular data entry and updates in HRIS systems (JDE and UKG), ensuring the integrity of employee files and benefits records, and compiling data for reporting and analysis purposes.**Assist with formulating total compensation strategies and programs to keep the company competitive, such as job evaluation, salary grades, incentive eligibility, etc., assuring they are consistently applied throughout the company.**Continuously track data for workforce analysis, application logs, VETS 100, EEO-1, & AAP.**Manage employee leave programs such as FMLA, HFLL, vacation, and sick leave for salary and bargaining unit employees.**Investigate employee concerns, resolve disputes, and mediate conflicts by conducting thorough and impartial investigations into complaints or issues related to harassment, discrimination, workplace misconduct, or policy violations while maintaining confidentiality.**Manage and administer employee benefit programs for active employees and retirees, if applicable, including overseeing administrative functions, compiling and submitting required data, processing monthly invoices and reconciliations, and coordinating the creation and distribution of benefit-related materials and communications.**Coordinate employee performance review process, employee engagement survey, award programs, health fairs, etc.**Coordinate, research, analyze, and report on various benefit and wage requests.**Complete requests for employment verification, withholding orders, unemployment claims, etc.**Serve as backup for processing weekly payroll. Payroll duties include but are not limited to timecard entry, running related reports, preparing manual checks, payroll adjustments, retro payments, submission of auto-deposits, processing final pay, and handing off weekly payroll to the corporate payroll department.**Review timecards via Kronos and data entry of time via Excel. Processing payroll via JD Edwards.**Review the pre-payroll for accuracy of time entry for personnel, wages, and fringes and compliance with applicable state/federal laws and collective bargaining agreements.**Assists in training initiatives, workers comp claims, and investigative research as needed.*Travel, including overnight stays, may be required to provide HR support and address HR-related matters.*Perform other duties as assigned.
