Position Summary
Under administrative direction, performs professional level duties related to the administration of federal programs and private loans. Provides back up assistance related to other aid programs like federal work study, and state grant and loan programs.
Required QualificationsBachelor's degreeThree years of related experiencePreferred Qualifications
Two to Three years' experience managing federal grant and loan programs.Preferred Education/Experience
Two to Three years' experience managing federal grant and loan programs.Experience with Ellucian Banner financial aid module related to federal programs and private loan administration.Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Collaborative, holistic approach to problem solvingMust be analytic, organized, innovative, detail oriented and able to multi-taskMust possess high ethical and professional standards; be highly motivated; flexible; adaptable, and service orientedHave appropriate knowledge of practices, and procedures in federal student aid, including state and federal laws and regulations.Must not be in default on federal student loans and have ability to access federal student aid databases (NSLDS, COD, FAAccess)Physical Demands
Sitting for extended periods of timeOccasional lifting up to ten poundsMust be able to work in a climate controlled, office environmentEssential Duties/Responsibilities
Essential Duties/Responsiblities
Responsible for the administration and processing of all federal grant and loan programs, to include alternative student loans.Works closely with Assistant Director to ensure students are awarded in compliance with federal and state regulations, to include annual and aggregate loan limits, MPN and Entrance Counseling requirements and all other requirements associated with loan awarding and disbursing.Oversee the Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) Appeals committee.Manage and process all Student Freedom Initiate Loan requests.Manage and update the Federal Direct Loan and Student Freedom Initiative webpages.Provides exceptional customer service by analyzing basic and complex questions and resolving problems/issues pertaining to financial aid issues by telephone, email, and in person. Answers internal & external questions and resolves issues regarding financial aid.Required to work select nights and weekends as needed.All duties as assigned by the Assistant Director of Financial Aid Operations and Director of Financial Aid.
