About the Role :We are seeking an experienced
Payroll Director
to join our team in Nashville, TN, overseeing payroll operations for a large, multi-unit restaurant group. The ideal candidate will have significant experience in the restaurant industry, preferably within
QSR (Quick Service Restaurant)
or
fast-casual
environments, though experience with full-service chains is also welcomed. This role requires someone with experience managing payroll for 150-200+ units, and
private equity-backed
experience is strongly preferred. Familiarity with franchise models will also be a key advantage.
Job Responsibilities :
Oversee all aspects of payroll processing and compliance for a multi-unit restaurant chain, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
Manage payroll operations for 150-200+ restaurant units, working closely with the finance and HR teams to ensure seamless payroll processes.
Develop and implement payroll policies, procedures, and controls to ensure efficiency and accuracy across the organization.
Collaborate with franchisees and corporate stakeholders to ensure payroll consistency and resolve any discrepancies or issues.
Lead, mentor, and develop the payroll team, providing guidance on complex payroll matters and promoting a culture of accuracy and accountability.
Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local payroll tax laws and regulations, as well as industry-specific labor laws.
Work with private equity partners and senior leadership to provide payroll data and insights for business decisions.
Manage payroll systems and technology, ensuring data integrity and improving system efficiency as needed.
Qualifications :
5+ years of payroll management experience, with a focus on the restaurant industry, preferably QSR or fast-casual. Full-service chain experience will also be considered.
Strong knowledge of payroll laws, tax regulations, and industry-specific labor laws.
Experience with
private equity-backed
companies is a strong plus.
Previous experience working with franchises is highly preferred.
Excellent leadership, communication, and team management skills.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
Proficiency in payroll software systems and related technology.
