MACOM is certified to the ISO9001 international quality standard and ISO14001 environmental management standard.Software Engineering Intern: Big DataJob Description:The Software Engineer intern will support the development of software systems and solutions in support of factory automation and engineering test data systems. The Software Engineer Intern will make use of database administration and design as well as strong programming and coding skills. Project work will include the creation of data pipelines, development of data visualization, and the automation of data-based applications to drive key decisions for the business. The Software Engineer will team up with members of the Big Data group to plan, design, develop, and test software solutions and applications for the business.Requirements:Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Science or Related Field.Work Authorization:Because this position will work with ITAR restricted data, qualified candidates must be a U.S. Citizen or U.S. Permanent Resident.Prerequisite Skills and Experience:Understanding of relational and cloud database structureExperience with database design and administration using MySQL, Oracle, MongoDB, or othersExperience with web services (AWS, Azure)Extract and develop management reports from databases and do data mining and analysis to identify opportunities to drive operational excellenceBusiness Intelligence and Visualization tools, e.g.: QuickSight, MS PowerBI, etc.Work alongside other engineers on the team to elevate technology and consistently apply best practicesDuring the 12 weeks each Intern will:Be given an individual and well-defined project with set outcome goalsGain hands-on experienceReceive excellent training and ongoing supervisionBe invited to attend an intern webinar seriesAttend networking/social eventsAttend and present at a Poster Session about each Intern's project successes and pitfallsEEO:MACOM is an Equal Opportunity Employer committed to a diverse workforce.
