Description
The Assistant Controller will have a strong background in technical accounting, financial management, and governmental accounting. Working under the guidance of a controller, you will play a crucial role in identifying and rectifying discrepancies while assisting in the establishment of effective control systems.
The position requires an experienced professional who can support the division in achieving its strategic initiatives through contributing to financial analysis and the timely and accurate reporting of financial information. Includes responsibility for assisting the Controller in effectively managing the accounting finance function to achieve efficient, economic performance while meeting corporate, financial accounting, legal and regulatory policies, guidelines and requirements.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSAssist in the preparation of financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statementsConduct general ledger reconciliation and ensure accuracy of accountsPrepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reportsAssist with regulatory reporting requirements and ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulationsOversee accounts payable and accounts receivable functionsCollaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline financial processes and improve efficiencySupport the Controller in budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysisAssist in the implementation and maintenance of accounting systems (Epicor)Perform account reconciliations and resolve any discrepancies or issuesContribute to the development of financial policies and proceduresStay updated on industry trends, accounting standards, and best practicesCOMPETENCIES:

Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance requiredCPA required.10+ years of progressive accounting experience with prior experience as an Assistant Controller or Controller in a manufacturing environment.Able to get hands dirty to drive organizational change will also maintaining an ability to manage up against strategic priorities/reporting.Prior experience in companies that are tech or advanced manufacturingThorough knowledge of basic accounting proceduresIn-depth understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)Familiarity with financial accounting statementsExperience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close processAdvanced MS Excel skills including VLOOKUP's and pivot tablesStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsProficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel used consistently)Knowledge of Epicor is preferred; however, not required.
