Overview:
Our client, a boutique law firm in the Seaport area, is seeking an experienced litigation paralegal to join their litigation team in Boston. The paralegal will manage all aspects of trial preparation and execution.
Key Responsibilities:
E-Discovery:Oversee the forensic collection and processing of client data with external vendors, and assist clients with minor self-collection efforts as needed.Develop search criteria for client documents, analyze search result reports, and adjust criteria accordingly.Manage E-Discovery vendor interactions, coordinating productions and document reviews.Discovery and Document Production:
Review documents for responsiveness and privilege in preparation for production.Index, catalog, and organize document productions from opposing parties and client submissions.Organize and de-duplicate non-ESI client documents for attorney review or liaise with E-Discovery vendors for de-duplication.Facilitate the processing of documents selected for production, including redaction, Bates labeling, and preparing both digital and hard copies.Prepare and draft subpoenas, schedules, and deposition notices.Track all subpoenas duces tecum to ensure timely production of responsive documents.Draft privilege logs.Depositions:
Review case files and utilize E-discovery tools to identify relevant documents to aid in attorney preparation and potential exhibit use.Assemble and organize exhibits for depositions.Prepare or coordinate the preparation of deposition summaries with outside vendors.Trial:
Prepare and track all trial exhibits.Coordinate with experts and witnesses.Additional Responsibilities:
Conduct various research tasks as directed by attorneys.Qualifications:
2-4 years of experience as a paralegal.A BS/BA from an accredited institution is preferred, along with a paralegal certificate.Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel.Strong judgment and follow-through on assigned tasks.Knowledgeable in Relativity or other E-discovery management tools, as well as relevant court rules.Skilled in PDF editing software.Excellent communication skills for interacting with clients, attorneys, and vendors.Highly organized and capable of managing complex, voluminous case loads.Strong creative problem-solving abilities.Certification as a Notary Public is a plus.
