Summary

The Analyst - Rail Logistics position will be responsible for (a) inventory management with focus on reduction in vehicle dwell time; (b) day-to-day issues management with focus on timely resolution and open lines of communication with multiple external entities; (d) billing and manifest generation and verification; and (e) special projects as needed; all as described below.

ResponsibilitiesInventory Management:

Create, verify, and submit to management daily reports evidencing dwell times of available vehicles to ensure vehicles with longest dwell times are expedited for loading and distributionMust be able to use spreadsheet-based software to use conditional sorting, classification, etc. in a manner that allows the Analyst to provide high-level overviews of information appropriate for HQ consumptionDevelop and submit daily Glovis and KUS reportsMonitor the availability of vehicles throughout the day to determine if more loads can be built/scheduled and communicate to management as applicable.

Organized Loading:

Create and verify a daily pull list of vehicles based on Inventory Management reportsEnter applicable information into VELES and communicate daily load sheet to crews and management using a printed copy, email and/or Microsoft TeamsMonitor loading to ensure vehicles are efficiently loaded to correct rail carsAssist with logistical problems as they arise and act as communications liaison between crew and management when unforeseen situations ariseAssist in receiving empty railcars, including status verification in CSX-owned system and comparable data entry functions into VELES

Day-to-Day Issues Management and Resolution; VPC Maintenance and Monitoring:

Resolve day-to-day shipping issues including but not limited to missing VINs, damage sustained during transit, incorrect Monroney Labels, EDI file submission issues, etc.Maintain open lines of communication with carriers, vendors, and inbound and outbound traffic to ensure vehicles are shipped and received in a cyclical, timely manner

Billing and Manifest Generation; Verification:

After all vehicles are loaded and quality checks have been performed, complete QC check sheet, including acting on and/or escalating issues as appropriateCreate and verify rail manifest including completion of load out and finalization of track sheet

Document rail billing information including waybills, maintenance, ship confirmations, 404, and empty rail car count including secondary verification of all data enteredReporting vehicles to the VPC for defects to create RO's, e.g. dead batteries, flat tires, and water damageBenefits of Working at Hyundai GLOVIS America Inc.
