Summary
The Procurement Planning Assistant Manager will be vital in optimizing our logistic procurement processes in the Americas region subsidiaries and ensuring timely and cost-effective acquisition of logistics equipment and services while maintaining the highest quality standards as well as meeting the organization's requirements. The assistant manager will support in developing and implementing regional procurement strategies, analyzing market trends, and managing supplier relationships for supply chain products and services.
ResponsibilitiesLogistic Procurement Planning and Supplier Management
Design strategic plans for logistics procurement to obtain a competitive advantageDevelop strategies of logistics procurement to support current and new logistics businessDevelop a tools for analyzing supplier's quotes to see which suppliers meet our requirements and give us the competitivenessSurvey and find prospective logistics services suppliers with a competitive advantageDevelop logistics service suppliers' evaluation and customize the evaluation criteria for each logistics businessReview the logistics service suppliers' evaluation outcomes and report them to the managerIdentify improvements regarding evaluation criteria and update them regularlyManage and improvement of the GPMS (GPMS: Glovis Procurement Management System)Proactively build up and deliver solutions against logistic and procurement problems and issues
Procurement Process Optimization
Development and update of standard operation procedures (SOP) for logistic procurementContinuous improvement and cost reduction initiatives for logistic and procurement proceduresCollaborate with interdisciplinary teams and subsidiaries in the Americas regionDesign and implement strategies for efficient procurement activitiesSurvey, benchmark, and report new trends and strategies in logistics procurement
Regional Procurement Status Management
Compile and aggregate logistics service contract schedules of each GLOVIS Americas subsidiaryManage and analyze the logistics contract rates of each subsidiary regularlyReport the regional procurement status of each subsidiary to the appropriate manager regularlyReport the results of market and supplier researchBuild up strategies for improving supplier management for GLOVIS Americas and all subsidiariesContact Glovis Korea HQ and work in cooperation with logistics procurement projectsPerform a planned procurement audits with the manager to maintain compliance of each subsidiary
Market Analysis: Conduct research and analysis of market trends, supplier capabilities, and industry best practices to inform procurement decisionsCompliance: Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, policies, and procedures governing procurement activitiesData Analysis and Reporting: Generate reports and analyze procurement data to provide insights, monitor performance, and support decision-makingCross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including operations, finance, legal, and logistics teamsCompensation

Strong knowledge of the United States logistics and transportation industry preferredProved experience with planning and strategy in a large international corporation preferredStrong analytics skills with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions requiredExcellent communication and negotiation skills, as well as the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders requiredProficiency in procurement software, MS office suite and database management requiredKnowledge of relevant regulations and best practices in procurement and supply chain management preferredDetail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills requiredCritical thinking, planning, problem-solving, and organizational skills requiredThorough understanding of sourcing and procurement methodologies: including spend analysis, supplier screening, benchmarking, clean-sheet costing, negotiations, supplier performance management, scorecards, contracting, and cost-saving preferredEducation & Experience
