How you can make an impact: As a Women's Health Nurse Practitioner (WHNP) you will provide specialized healthcare services to women of all ages, focusing on reproductive health, prenatal and postnatal care, gynecological issues, and preventive healthcare. WHNPs play a vital role in promoting women's well-being through comprehensive and personalized healthcare interventions.
What You Will Do:
* Provide primary and specialized healthcare services to women, focusing on preventive care, health maintenance, and treatment of acute and chronic conditions.* Conduct comprehensive health assessments, including physical exams, gynecological exams, and screenings for various health issues such as breast cancer, cervical cancer, sexually transmitted infections (STIs), and reproductive health concerns.* Develop and implement personalized care plans for patients, addressing their unique health needs, preferences, and cultural backgrounds.* Offer counseling and education to patients on topics such as contraception, family planning, prenatal care, menopause management, sexual health, and lifestyle modifications.* Perform diagnostic procedures and order and interpret diagnostic tests, including laboratory tests, imaging studies, and biopsies, as needed for accurate diagnosis and treatment planning.* Prescribe medications, therapies, and other treatment modalities within the scope of practice, and collaborate with other healthcare providers to ensure coordinated and comprehensive care.* Provide prenatal care, including prenatal screenings, prenatal education, monitoring of maternal and fetal well-being, and management of pregnancy-related complications.* Assist with reproductive health services, such as contraceptive counseling, insertion of intrauterine devices (IUDs) and contraceptive implants, and management of reproductive disorders.* Offer support and counseling for patients experiencing infertility, miscarriage, pregnancy loss, or other reproductive challenges.* Participate in community outreach programs, health promotion initiatives, and advocacy efforts aimed at improving women's health outcomes and reducing health disparities.* Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records, documentation, and billing information in compliance with regulatory standards and organizational policies.* Stay abreast of current evidence-based practices, clinical guidelines, and advancements in women's health research and healthcare technology through continuing education and professional development activities.
Who you are and what you bring:
* Master's or Doctoral degree in Nursing (MSN or DNP) from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program with a specialization in Women's Health.* Current licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) and Nurse Practitioner (NP) in the state of New Jersey.* Certification as a Women's Health Nurse Practitioner (WHNP-BC) from a recognized certifying body such as the National Certification Corporation (NCC) or the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC).* Clinical experience in women's health, obstetrics, gynecology, or related field preferred.* Strong clinical assessment, diagnostic, and decision-making skills.* Excellent communication, interpersonal, and patient counseling skills.* Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary healthcare team and provide patient-centered care.
