Assistant Controller
The Assistant Controller must align the goals of the position with the goals of the department and the organization by keeping in mind the underlying values of a work product that is Accurate, Meaningful and Timely ("AMT").
The Assistant Controller is responsible for providing high-level support to the Controller in managing the company's accounting and financial activities by producing financial summary statements, forecasting a company's financial health and correcting inaccuracies in a company's financial records.
Finally, the Assistant Controller must be able to work as a team member in a team environment and take on other tasks, duties and/or projects as assigned by the CFO and Controller.

Duties & Responsibilities:Aid in creating financial statements for upper managementUse critical thinking skills to analyze trends in month financial statementsPrepare monthly, quarterly and yearly financial reportsEnsure all accounting practices are in compliance with legal guidelines and established accounting principlesAssist with tax documentation preparationWork with the company financial team to create internal controls and policiesIdentifying solutions to discrepancies in financial recordsAssist the Staff Accountant(s) with their monthly workpapers to ensure that the work that is being prepared is timely, accurate and meaningfulReview and approve invoices, credit card charges and expense reports entered into accounts payable by the Accounts Payable Specialist for proper coding (dates, general ledger account, etc)Prepare additional reports as needed for the Controller and/or CFOEducation & Experience:
College degree in Accounting is requiredMinimum five years of accounting experienceCPA license is beneficialSkills and Qualifications:
Excellent communication skillsHighly organized with excellent attention to detailFamiliarity with government grant programs helpfulBenefits:
