Key Responsibilities:
Financial Statement Preparation:
Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
Ensure accuracy and completeness of financial records and reports.
Analyze financial statements for discrepancies and work to resolve any identified issues.
Job Costing:
Manage and analyze job cost data, including tracking of project budgets, actual costs, and variances.
Collaborate with project managers to ensure accurate cost allocation and budgeting.
Prepare job cost reports and provide insights into project profitability and efficiency.
General Accounting:
Oversee and perform general ledger accounting functions, including journal entries, reconciliations, and accruals.
Maintain and ensure the accuracy of accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll processes.
Assist with month-end and year-end close processes.
Compliance and Audit Support:
Ensure compliance with internal controls, policies, and procedures.
Support external auditors during financial audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations.
Stay updated on changes in accounting regulations and ensure company adherence.
Financial Analysis and Reporting:
Conduct financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and areas for improvement.
Provide detailed financial reports to management for strategic decision-making.
Assist in the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and long-term financial plans.
Team Leadership and Collaboration:
Mentor and provide guidance to junior accounting staff.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including project management and operations, to ensure alignment of financial objectives.
Participate in process improvement initiatives to enhance accounting efficiency and accuracy.
Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA certification is required.
