At Eden Prairie, MN, we manufacture Hydraulic Steering Units and Motors, primarily used in powering agricultural and construction equipment. Senior Cost Analyst will play a key role at the Eden Prairie plant and thrive working in a diverse and growing environment at the multi-national company. The position will be accountable for cost accounting, budgeting, month-end closing, financial reports and analysis. Also providing reliable information and insight to plant and business unit management. Timely and accurate handling of data is critical. Job Responsibilities Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to: * Manage cost accounting such as cost center accounting and allocation cycles, calculating standard cost, and complete necessary updates. * Perform month-end closing tasks within deadline. * Prepare journal entries for accruals, reconciliation, costs of sales, scrap, warranty, etc. * Review and analyze cost variances including production order and purchase price variance. * Monitor actual sales/cogs and variable/fixed expenses based on budget and forecast. * Prepare and interpret various daily, monthly, and yearly reports for plant leadership and management. * Monitor inventory flows and perform yearly physical inventory observation. * Support external and internal audits as well as other statutory requests. * Support a safe working environment to minimize employee risk to injury and drive a zero-incident safety culture. * Model Danfoss's "Behaviors in Action" and support the core values of the organization. Background & Skills Qualifications Required qualifications Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, economics or related fields 3 years accounting experience 1 year cost accounting experience Preferred qualifications 5-7 years accounting experience, preferably covering full-cycle month end closing, in-depth financial analysis with deep understanding of BS and PL. 3 years cost accounting experience, preferably in manufacturing environment Working knowledge and experience in SAP CO/FI modules CPA is a plus Job Criteria Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Excel Exceptional accuracy and attention to detail Strong analytical skills Strong verbal and written communication skills Collaborative Danfoss - Engineering Tomorrow At Danfoss, we are engineering solutions that allow the world to use resources in smarter ways - driving the sustainable transformation of tomorrow.
