Chief MRI TechnologistThe University of Miami Department of Radiology has an exciting opportunity for a full-time Chief MRI Technologist to work at Applebaum MRI Center in Miami. The incumbent is responsible for the day-to-day operations and administrative duties ensuring efficient workflow of the section, compliance with budgetary policy, ensuring the highest quality diagnostic examinations, and compliance with State/Federal/Joint Commission regulations, department/hospital policies and procedures, objectives, and philosophy. The Chief is accountable for efficient patient throughput and has 24-hr supervisory responsibility of the department and all departmental staff members’ scheduling, technical guidance, and performance improvement.
CORE JOB FUNCTIONS
Performs all duties of Level I & II technologist.
Supervises imaging services, including performance or supervision of tests, and daily management of assigned personnel.
Assists in compilation of statistical data for departmental evaluation purposes.
Contributes to the preparation of the annual departmental budget and development of administrative and operational policies, procedures, and regulations.
Responsible for hire, discipline, and promotion of department staff.
Obtains and examines the diagnostic orders for appropriateness to the type of exam ordered and any special notes or comments.
Coordinates/manages scheduling and patient flow for interdepartmental procedures.
Collaborates in the development of in-service training for departmental staff.
Completes yearly performance appraisals for the staff and handles requests for merit increases, promotions, and disciplinary actions.
CORE QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent required. Graduate of accredited Radiologic Technology/Diagnostic Imaging Program.
Certification and Licensing:
Must possess a valid State of Florida License as a General Radiographer. ARRT registered with ARRT certification in primary modality required. CPR and BLS certification required.
Experience:
Minimum 5 years of relevant experience. Supervisory experience preferred.
Knowledge, Skills and Attitudes:
Knowledge of business and management principles.
Ability to direct, manage, implement, and evaluate department operations.
Ability to establish department goals and objectives that support the strategic plan.
Ability to effectively plan, delegate, and/or supervise the work of others.
Ability to lead, motivate, develop, and train others.
