A reputable law firm is seeking a Labor & Employment Attorney with experience in public agency law to join its Walnut Creek office. This role involves providing legal counsel to public school districts and other public agencies throughout California on a broad range of labor and employment matters. The ideal candidate will have 5 to 7 years of relevant experience, with a strong passion for labor and employment law. Experience in administrative hearings is preferred.Location

Provide legal advice and representation on labor and employment issues for public agencies, including hiring, contracts, and collective bargaining.Handle cases involving discrimination, retaliation, misconduct, layoffs, and employee discipline and dismissals.Draft and negotiate employment contracts and manage contract grievances.Represent clients in administrative hearings and court proceedings.Collaborate with clients to develop strategic legal solutions and ensure compliance with employment laws.Requirements
5 to 7 years of experience practicing labor and employment law, preferably within the public sector.Strong research, writing, and analytical skills.Experience with administrative hearings is a plus.Education
Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.Certifications
Active membership in the California State Bar.Skills
In-depth knowledge of California labor and employment laws applicable to public agencies.Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.Ability to manage multiple cases in a fast-paced environment.Strong interpersonal skills and a commitment to client service.
