The Human Resources Generalist will play a critical role in supporting our Human Resource operations and ensuring the well-being and satisfaction of our employees. The duties include comparing HR laws to current policies and procedures, drafting templates for HR documents and working with members of the department to oversee the hiring and onboarding process for company employees. The Human Resources Generalist supports the recruiting function, including assisting with the hiring process, and the onboarding of new hires. The HR Generalist will assist in the production and maintenance of various HR reports, the planning and organizing of employee-focused activities, act as HR resource addressing ongoing employee questions, providing administrative support for development and training initiatives, benefits support, and Federal and State regulatory reporting as well as other associated HR administrative duties. This position will grow as the right person learns the job. The Human Resources Generalist reports directly to the Director of Human Resources.
Essential Functions of Human Resources Generalist Position
Perform job responsibilities in a timely and accurate manner, communicate with management, co-workers, and candidates in an effective, courteous, and professional manner, abide by all regulations, policies, work procedures, and instruction as required and treat personal information, sensitive data and other financial information on a need-to-know basis and in a strictly confidential manner. The employee performing this position is regularly required to talk and hear. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, and use hands to finger, handle feel, and reach with hands and arms. The employee will be frequently sitting and occasionally required to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required in this position include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth vision, and the ability to adjust focus. Employees must be able to travel to various company offices, colleges/universities, and clients' sites depending on meeting requirements and business needs.
Responsibilities
Assist in the hiring process to include scheduling interviews, conducting background checks, assisting with reference checks, drafting offer letters, and other associated duties.Help with the college recruiting program which would include communication with the universities, scheduling virtual or on-campus visits, and communicating with students.Assist in the onboarding process to include new hire orientation.Assist and help coordinate the annual benefits enrollment process as well as answer any day-to-day questions from TMG employees.Assist in the preparation and management of HR departmental data and analysis, including organizational charts, various reports, and other employment-related information.Assist in the preparation of required federal, state, or local government reports.Ensure HR digital files are created and maintained in accordance with legal requirements and established HR policies and procedures.Stay current with federal, state and local laws and regulations to ensure compliance and that all necessary posting requirements are being met.Assist in creating internal HR communication documents and articles that are published on TMG's Intranet.Assist in the administration and support of required training and development activities for TMG management and employees.Ensure the confidentiality of all HR-related information and communications.Perform all other tasks assigned by the Director of Human ResourcesMinimum Qualifications
S. degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, or another related field and 3 - 5 years of direct experience.Basic knowledge of general HR principles and applicable state and federal laws.Strong organizational skills, the ability to multi-task, and be attentive to details.Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).Must possess excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.Ability to work independently, be resourceful in researching topics, be a self-starter; andPHR or SHRM certification is desired but not required.
