The Training and Development Specialist - Advanced will:
Coordinate the 40-hour Certified Peer Support Worker (CPSW) training;Receive and review applications to identify potential candidates;Lend administrative support to the Office of Peer Recovery &Engagement (OPRE) team on other program initiatives and CPSW professional development;Coordinate contracted trainers and maintaining all reporting processes from OPRE to both internal and external stakeholders.How does it get done?
The Training and Development Specialist - Advanced is responsible for:
Scheduling and coordinate all training activities for OPRE;Responding to inquires from people about the CPSW training and other OPRE resources;Reviewing CPSW training applications and communicate training program eligibility and acceptance;Preparing and delivering required documentation to individuals who successfully complete the CPSW training, in preparation for the examination;Lend administrative support to the OPRE team on other program initiatives around other types of training and professional development.Who are the customers?
New Mexico residents and various behavioral health community based agencies.Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate has:
Preferred but not required- NM certification as a peer support worker in good standing;Strong customer service skills such as good communication; empathy and compassion;Ability to work independently in a fast paced setting and able to meet strict deadlines;Ability to work creatively within the OPRE team to develop and expand relevant training that prepares peers with work readiness tools, and enhances professional development;Familiarity with Microsoft Suite 365 and able to create reports utilizing various Microsoft Suite software.
Minimum Qualification
Bachelor's Degree in any field and two (2) years of experience in training, staff development, designing courses, and/or producing instructional aids/materials. Substitutions Apply. See Substitution Table below.

4 years of experience 3 Bachelor's degree

0 years of experience• Education and years of experience must be related to the purpose of the position.
• If Minimum Qualification requires a specific number of "semester hours" in a field (e.g. 6 semester hours in Accounting), applicants MUST have those semester hours in order to meet the minimum qualifications. No substitutions apply for semester hours.
Employment Requirements
Must possess and maintain a valid Driver's License.
Employment is subject to a pre-employment criminal history background investigation and is conditional pending results.
Working Conditions
Work is performed in an office setting with exposure to Visual/Video Display Terminal (VDT) and extensive personal computer and phone usage. Some travel may be required. Ability to lift up to 30 lbs
