Desktop Migration Technician

TalentCraft is partnering with a leading provider of Gene Therapy manufacturing solutions based in Lexington, MA. This customer is looking for a well-rounded IT professional to lead a desktop migration from Windows 10 to Windows 11.

Responsibilities:

• Provide hands-on support for hardware and software issues directly at the user’s workstation.
• Create and deploying Windows 11 images.
• Coordinate and schedule device swaps with users.
• Ensure minimal downtime and smooth transition for users
• Manage inventory of laptops and track progress of the imaging process
• Interact directly with the end user to back up and successfully migrate existing data to their new system.
• Diagnose and resolve technical problems that arise during the migration process.
• Escalate complex issues to higher-level IT teams or specialized departments when necessary.
• Hands-on experience supporting Active Directory, GPO and O365.
• Prioritize and categorize issues to ensure efficient resolution.
• Communicate with end-users to provide updates on the status of their migration.
• Assist users with technical inquiries, software installations, and system configurations.
• Educate users on best practices for using IT resources and tools.
• Assist users with password resets other service requests.

Primary Skills:

• Windows OS knowledge.
• Prior experience performing a Windows 11 upgrade / migration
• Proficient in crating and deploying Windows 11 images
• Experience with imaging software (i.e. Microsoft Deployment Toolkit, SCCM, Clonezilla, etc.)
• Ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to OS deployment
• Familiarity with network configuration settings.
• Experience with Office 365 and Auto Pilot
• Excellent end user communication skills
• Attention to detail and commitment to quality

**MUST be able to work on site in Lexington 5 days per week.
