Executive Project/Strategy Manager

Key Responsibilities:

Support to the Office of the COO

  • Act as the primary support to the COO in all corporate and operational initiatives.
  • Manage operational workflows and strategic initiatives under the COO’s guidance.
  • Serve as the COO’s liaison with executive leadership and external stakeholders, ensuring timely and accurate execution of priorities and decisions.
  • Provide Operations Executive leaders with communication, initiative, project, and process improvement support as warranted to drive execution of company’s Operations.
  • Assist with high-level decision-making by providing insights, project updates, and operational status reports to the COO.
  • Oversee the coordination of activities, streamlining executive communications and ensuring operational efficiency.

Project Oversight

  • Lead the execution and oversight of critical corporate and operational projects to meet operations and/or company-wide strategic goals.
  • Ensure that project deliverables align with corporate priorities, providing regular updates to the COO and executive leadership team.
  • Build and govern operations’ Project Management Office to implement industry best practices and standardized processes across all project management activities. PMO supports projects critical to customer operations, onboarding customers, IT, and financial ops. This role will also monitor and assess project performance and resource allocation, ensuring adherence to budgets and timelines.

Executive Reporting & Management Systems

  • Establish and manage executive reporting and management systems to ensure comprehensive tracking of key performance indicators (KPIs) and project progress.
  • Develop or refine operations team protocols and systems, as needed, that support public company reporting requirements, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, including SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) compliance, coordination and planning with Finance.
  • Strengthen operations team internal controls and reporting mechanisms to provide accurate, timely, and reliable data for decision-making and enhance transparency across all levels of the organization.
  • Create or refine dashboards and tools for real-time visibility into project and operational performance, aligning with public company expectations.

Cross-Functional Coordination

  • Facilitate and manage coordination among executive unit groups, ensuring that all teams are aligned with company goals and objectives.
  • Act as a central point of communication between departments to ensure efficient collaboration and problem-solving.

Board Materials Preparation

  • Develop, refresh, and manage the communications and related materials provided to the board and other presentations for executive meetings.
  • Collaborate with the COO and executive team to ensure that board materials provide a clear, concise, and accurate reflection of the company’s strategic direction and progress.

Liaison with Finance and Audit Teams

  • Act as the main communication link between the Operations Team and the Finance and Audit Teams.
  • Balance and prioritize communications and ensure alignment between operational initiatives and financial compliance requirements.
  • Facilitate discussions to resolve any discrepancies, ensure reporting and controls integrity, and maintain alignment with audit guidelines while supporting the company’s financial and operational objectives.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 10+ years of experience in executive role and/or in support of c-suite and related project management; renewable energy, energy and public company experience preferred.
  • Solid business and commercial acumen, with a track record of leading complex corporate and operational projects. Process improvements experience and standup of operational and corporate functions.
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills with experience in building and leading a PMO.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a strong ability to coordinate cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to design, enhance and prepare executive-level reports and board materials. Use of Microsoft tools, such as PowerPoint required.
  • Experience in liaising with finance and audit teams, ensuring effective communication between operations and financial functions.

EDUCATION

Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, engineering, or a related field; master’s degree or PMP certification preferred, but not required.
