ANNOUNCEMENT
Southwestern Illinois College is accepting applications for part-time instructors (lecture and lab instruction) for the Respiratory Care program. Part-time instructors are hired on an as-needed basis. Your application will be placed in a pool for review as part-time teaching assignments become available.
POSITION DESCRIPTION
Part-time/adjunct faculty in the Respiratory Care program are responsible for teaching the objectives for any course assigned, the assessment of student learning, and reporting of student progress as required by the college and the Commission on Accreditation for Respiratory Care (CoARC).
QUALIFICATIONS
* Meets the minimum instructor requirements for any course assignment* Valid Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential from the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC)* Valid, current Illinois and Missouri licensed Registered Respiratory Therapist; or ability to procure* Minimum Baccalaureate degree from an academic institution accredited by USDE* American Heart Association BLS CPR instructor; or ability to procure* Minimum of four years clinical respiratory therapy experience as an RRT* Minimum of two years of respiratory therapy teaching experience in an accredited respiratory care program, either as an appointed faculty member or as a clinical preceptor* Strong communication, organization, and interpersonal skills.* Knowledge of and ability to use personal computers, applicable software, and Internet - dependent on the needs of course delivery.
STARTING PAY AND HOURS
Salary varies based on educational level and number of units taught.
