Job Overview:
A prominent law firm in Bethesda, MD, is seeking an experienced and dynamic Commercial Real Estate Attorney to join its Litigation & Trial practice group. The firm offers a collaborative environment that emphasizes growth, teamwork, and professional development. This role will involve managing complex civil litigation matters related to business, employment, and real estate disputes.Duties:Handle various litigation cases, including arbitrations, trials, and evidentiary hearings.Develop practical solutions for dispute resolution outside of court.Draft pleadings, motions, discovery requests, briefs, and other key legal documents.Participate in hearings, mediations, arbitrations, and trials.Manage and organize large document productions.Conduct legal research using resources such as Westlaw, Lexis/Nexis, and other databases.Interact with clients, witnesses, and opposing counsel.Conduct interviews with relevant parties, witnesses, and experts.Provide pre-litigation counseling to clients on managing and resolving disputes.Requirements:3-7 years of experience as a litigation attorney, preferably in civil litigation, including general and commercial litigation.Pretrial and trial experience, with knowledge of federal and state court filing procedures.Experience with electronic discovery and e-discovery platforms.Strong legal research and drafting skills.Familiarity with estates, trusts, and commercial litigation is a plus.Education:Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.Active Bar membership in Maryland is required; membership in Virginia and the District of Columbia is preferred.Certifications:Active Maryland Bar license.Virginia and District of Columbia Bar membership is a plus.Skills:Strong legal research abilities using Lexis-Nexis, Westlaw, and similar platforms.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced legal environment.Proficiency in drafting litigation-related documents and conducting discovery.Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.Job Location:Bethesda, MD (Hybrid remote work environment).Benefits:Health, dental, and vision insurance.Health savings account.Life insurance.Paid time off and parental leave.Employee assistance program.Referral program.
