Job Description

The Department of Commerce, Community, and Economic Development, Division of Corporations, Business & Professional Licensing, is recruiting for a Program Coordinator 2 located in Juneau! What you will be doing: The Alaska Division of Corporations, Business, and Professional Licensing (CBPL) is recruiting for a Program Coordinator 2 located in Juneau. Teleworking opportunities are available for this position once initial training is complete.

The Program Coordinator 2 is part of the division's management team and is responsible for oversight of the day-to-day operations of several statewide professional licensing programs. The incumbent develops and implements program procedures and practices, as well as the methods and standards to guide and train program staff on effective and efficient licensing policies and services. As part of a team, the incumbent participates in strategic planning and program development, enhancement, implementation, and evaluation. No prior licensing experience is required.

The division licenses over 40 professions from Acupuncturists to Veterinarians. The working environment you can expect: The official duty station is on the 9th floor of the State Office Building centrally located in downtown Juneau. Telework opportunities are available for eligible employees once the initial training for the position has been completed.

Requires Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) clearance upon initial employment and annually thereafter. Minimum Qualifications

Organizational Awareness: Knows the organization's mission and functions, and how its social, political, and technological systems work and operates effectively within them; this includes the programs, policies, procedures, rules, and regulations of the organization. Equivalent to those typically gained by:

Training from an accredited college or university in any field and/or progressively responsible professional experience developing, planning, coordinating, and implementing a program, project, business, organization, or major components of a program, including having administrative authority over the program/project funding, staff, and/or overall operations.

Special Note

:

"Competencies" means a combination of interrelated knowledge, skills, abilities, and behaviors that enable a person to act effectively in a job or situation.

"Typically gained by" means the prevalent, usual method of gaining the competencies expected for entry into the job.

"Training" and "education" are synonyms for the process of acquiring knowledge and skills through instruction.
