The role primarily focuses on Post-Conviction Relief (PCR) matters, but candidates with a background in Immigration law are encouraged to apply, as Immigration-related issues may arise within PCR cases. This position offers the flexibility of remote work but requires candidates to be licensed to practice law in California.Key Duties & Responsibilities:Advise clients on their legal rights in post-conviction relief matters, including motions to vacate, expungements, and early termination of probation.Manage a caseload of PCR cases, with potential immigration implications.Represent clients at hearings and provide strategic advice on case developments.Handle criminal cases, including arraignments, pre-trials, pleas, and sentencing as required.Assess the impact of criminal convictions on clients’ immigration status and offer guidance accordingly.Collaborate effectively with attorneys and staff across criminal and immigration practices to provide comprehensive legal services.Conduct legal research and draft motions relevant to PCR cases.Qualifications & Requirements:Must be licensed to practice law in California.Prior experience in criminal defense or immigration law is preferred.Experience handling criminal cases at the state and local levels is an advantage.Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively with colleagues.Bilingual in Spanish and English is a plus.Ability to manage a heavy caseload and work independently in a fast-paced environment.Education:Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.Certifications:Active California State Bar membership.Skills:Knowledge of criminal defense and post-conviction relief procedures.Familiarity with immigration law and its intersection with criminal convictions.Strong legal research, writing, and communication skills.Ability to handle complex legal cases with attention to detail and deadlines.Proficiency with legal software and case management systems.Job Location:Orange, CA (Remote work available)Competitive compensation package.Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance.Paid time off (PTO) and paid parking.Professional development opportunities and career advancement support.Collaborative and inclusive work environment.
