Job Location: San Jose, CAJob OverviewA distinguished law firm, based in San Jose, CA, is actively seeking a skilled and dedicated Associate Attorney with experience in Post-Conviction Relief (PCR) and Immigration law. This position will focus on handling a variety of post-conviction cases, such as motions to vacate, expungements, and early termination of probation, while also addressing immigration issues that may arise in these cases. The ideal candidate will work closely with both criminal defense and immigration teams to provide holistic legal counsel and representation for clients.DutiesCounsel clients on legal rights and options in post-conviction relief matters, including motions to vacate, expungements, and early termination of probation.Manage a caseload involving PCR cases, with potential immigration ramifications.Represent clients at hearings and offer strategic advice following legal proceedings.Handle criminal defense matters, including arraignments, pre-trial motions, pleas, and sentencing.Assess and advise clients on the impact of criminal convictions on their immigration status.Collaborate with other attorneys, paralegals, and staff in managing cases and legal research.Draft motions, pleadings, and other legal documents pertinent to post-conviction relief.RequirementsCalifornia Bar licensed attorney.Experience in criminal defense or immigration law is preferred.Knowledge of criminal defense proceedings, especially at the state and local level, is an advantage.Strong interpersonal skills with an ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment.Bilingual (Spanish/English) is a plus.Self-motivated with the ability to manage a high caseload and work independently.EducationJuris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.CertificationsActive California State Bar membership is required.SkillsExcellent written and verbal communication skills.Strong legal research and drafting abilities.In-depth understanding of criminal law and immigration issues, particularly about post-conviction relief.Ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail and quality.Job LocationSan Jose, CA (Remote work options available for qualified candidates)Competitive compensation package.Medical, dental, and vision insurance.Paid parking and paid time off.Opportunity to work with a supportive, dynamic team of professionals in the legal industry.Career development and mentorship opportunities.Company infoAs a member of the Executive Team, and reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the Chief People Officer (CPO)is directly responsible for the oversight of Human Resources, Workforce and Organizational Strategies, Marketing and ...\u003cp\u003eOUR VISION: THE WORLD.
