This role offers the opportunity to work with a dedicated legal team, managing cases from start to finish with growth potential. The position provides flexible remote work options, though the attorney must be based in or near the San Jose or Bay Area to attend court appearances as needed.Duties
Provide counsel to clients on legal rights and document preparation specific to each case.Represent clients in pretrial hearings, advising on legal strategies after each session.Conduct court appearances, manage trials, draft motions, interview witnesses, and perform in-depth legal research.Analyze potential case outcomes based on legal precedents.Handle a diverse caseload with a focus on effective case management.Offer legal analysis to clients, outlining possible case benefits.Gather supporting evidence for defense cases or to counter prosecution charges.Prepare clients for depositions, establish case strategy, and collect testimony from witnesses and experts to support the client's position.Requirements
Minimum 4-5 years of experience in criminal defense.Proven expertise in handling intricate criminal cases at federal, state, and local levels.Team-oriented approach with the ability to collaborate effectively with associates.Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is preferred but not required.Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.Education
Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.Admission to practice law in the state of California.Certifications
Active membership with the State Bar of California.Skills
Strong analytical and strategic thinking capabilities.Excellent case management and organizational skills.Effective communication, both written and verbal, to interact with clients and court officials.Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.Proficiency in legal research tools and case management software.Job Location
