Sr Accountant/Consumer AR Manager

LHH is working with our Client, a New York based, non-for-profit, who is seeking a Sr Accountant / AR Manager to oversee the Consumer Accounts Receivable (AR) department. This role involves managing billing and collections, ensuring the accuracy of AR tasks, and meeting strict deadlines. The ideal candidate will provide leadership, analysis, and support to the AR team while maintaining company confidentiality and compliance with regulatory standards. This role is 5 days in the office.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and supervise the Consumer AR team.
Oversee and execute activities and entries related to consumer accounts.
Provide training, support, and education to staff; review and post Consumer AR entries.
Analyze and prepare revenue and Consumer AR-related accounts.
Assist with month-end financial close processes and prepare monthly revenue schedules for review.
Compile financial, accounting, and administrative reports and analyses.
Support external auditors during year-end audits.
Ensure confidentiality and compliance with company policies.
Participate in and prepare for rental arrears meetings, including reviewing detailed aging reports.
Approve payment batches, close statement cycles, and generate monthly rent invoices.
Book and reconcile AR allowances and fee-for-service revenue.
Review and sign off on RPWs and OAs.
Monitor unreleased batches and generate end-of-month reports.
Undertake special projects and assignments from management as needed.
Maintain professional and composed interactions with staff.
Essential Skills and Competencies:
Strong mathematical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Exceptional interpersonal, communication (verbal and written), and organizational abilities.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and accounting/billing software (e.g., Dynamics, BC, Anasazi, CORE).
Advanced Excel skills (e.g., pivot tables, VLOOKUP).
Strong multitasking and deadline management capabilities.
Sound judgment and the ability to work collaboratively with others.
Adherence to corporate compliance and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field.
Minimum of 4 years of experience in a similar role.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software.
Familiarity with HIPAA regulations.
Strong organizational, analytical, and customer service skills.
