Description: Seeking an Electronics/Test Engineering Intern for Lockheed Martin in Troy, Alabama to begin January 2025.
Candidates will develop hands-on Production Engineering skills used to support the manufacture of military missile systems; the skills may include: ordnance handling, mechanical assembly, electronic testing, factory automation, industrial processes, technical writing, teaming and continuous improvement techniques. Candidates will learn how to read and interpret engineering drawings & specifications to develop manufacturing processes, special tooling, and unique factory equipment; they will utilize software systems to develop manufacturing work instruction, analyze data, support test troubleshooting, and design/document process flows. Investigate root cause of failures/defects and implement preventative/corrective actions to support continuous improvement. Must be a U.S. Citizen and able to obtain a security clearance.
Working Monday-Thursday - less than 20 hoursStudent will work with manager to set a schedule.Internship to begin in Troy, Alabama in January 2025.Basic Qualifications:Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program in Electrical Engineering or Electronics Engineering Technology.
Ability to obtain a DoD Secret Security Clearance and an Interim Secret Security Clearance prior to starting.
Candidate must also be able to pass a Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives ("ATF") background check to obtain approval to be an "employee possessor" (of explosives or other ATF-regulated items) as defined by ATF regulations. Failure to obtain and retain employee possessor status may result in revocation of an offer and loss of employment.Desired Skills:Familiarity with 3D printing, manufacturing assembly and test methods, industrial processes, factory automation, software programming, electrical troubleshooting.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work in a collaborative and team-based environment.
Proficient with Microsoft Office.Security Clearance Statement:
