Job Purpose
This position manages service part inventory for fast, medium, and new model parts supplied by Honda Motors, and other overseas Honda Affiliates to ensure appropriate inventory levels while maintaining high service level to our domestic and export dealer network.In addition this position is also responsible for (but not limited to) the inventory management and/or project coordination of new technology parts, special projects which will require reviewing both system computer generated reports/screens and need manual forecast/order decisions. In addition, off-line forecasting tools and product knowledge must be solicited/applied for these new technology parts as there is no prior precedence to which purchasing decisions maybe based on.
Role will include gathering purchase price, collaborate / coordinate methods to improve supply chain efficiency and inventory optimizationTotal part number population is approx. 40k, representing $100M in annual demand and $25M in inventory.
Key Accountabilities
Lead department activities such as Service Level recovery. Conduct meetings with supplying entities to improve recovery efforts. Analyse / CAPDO impact areas to determine next steps to follow PDCA activity flow (ie forecast, order, expedite, etc follow-up with supplier for condition improvement)Forecast Exceptional Items & Order Exceptional Items. Analyse demand forecast for replacement parts. Identify and correct problem areas. Evaluate and revise as needed the computer suggested order quantities to meet vendor requirements while achieving high service level and minimum inventory levelProject Coordination - A Sr Specialist will be assigned involvement in department and / or division projects. Communication/data gathering with Honda Japan, Affiliates and AH Division as appropriate.Training and associate development of junior associates & contingent staff.Monitor and process DTR's as needed, maintain invoice payments from not being delayed.Qualifications, Experience, and Skills
Bachelor's degree in business, economics, finance, mathematics or equivalent. Some experience in supply chain, working knowledge of inventory control, forecasting, supply chain, preferred.Minimum 6 years of experience in information systems, inventory control, demand forecasting, purchasing, procurement, supplier performance or relevant educationAdvance math, statistical, inventory, forecasting skills and knowledgeAnalytical thinking capabilities (problem solving) with excellent communications skill.Strong computer skills including MS Office and data mining software knowledge communications skill.Communication, Planning and Organization skillsWorking Conditions
Occasional travel to offsite meetings, PC's, SPPC office as required by business needs.
